A Piece of Happiness | Düsseldorf

Through the “Stück zum Glück” initiative, REWE, Procter & Gamble, and Aktion Mensch have been working for many years to promote greater inclusion in public spaces. The goal of this joint effort is to create accessible playgrounds where children with and without disabilities can play, learn, and grow together as a matter of course.

A special milestone was reached with the opening of the 60th inclusive playground at Gertrudisplatz in Düsseldorf-Eller. Together with the city of Düsseldorf, “Stück zum Glück” celebrated the completion of the new playground, thereby sending another clear signal of inclusion in everyday life.

More than 120 children attended the official opening and were the first to explore and try out the new playground. The event was attended by numerous representatives from politics, business, and civil society. Among the guests of honor were Dr. Stephan Keller, Mayor of the state capital Düsseldorf, and Mathias Mester, Para-athletics world champion and ambassador for the initiative, who together emphasized the importance of inclusive gathering spaces for children and families.

The goal: to create a place where inclusion doesn’t need to be explained, but is simply a natural part of life. Thanks to the playground’s accessible design, children of all abilities can play together and share valuable experiences.

Our services included the planning and execution of all event components—from technology and branding to interactive stations, catering, and more—covering everything from research to final billing of all partners, to ensure a fitting setting for the “Stück zum Glück” initiative.
